Shinyanga District Council is headed by His Lordship Chairpersonal who is elected by the Full Council which consists of 35 Councillors. The Full Council comprises of 26 elected councillors and seven (9) nominated councillors under special seats. Also it has one (1) elected Member of Parliament.
The Council executes its administrative duties through District Director. The District Organization Structure includes of the District Director, heads of Department, Units and Sections who perform day to day administrative activities of the Council.
